He was educated the University of Southern California with a B.S. in Finance (with honors), a short time at the University of Cambridge, and a J.D.from University of California, Berkeley School of Law (formerly Boatl Hall).
After law school he worked for a time on the staff of the Comptroller of the Currency in Washington D.C. until he was drafted in the United States Army (yes, there was a draft some years ago), and then commissioned a Captain in the Judge Advocates General’s office. He served a year with JAG in Viet Nam, tried numerous serious matters, served at the JAG School in Charlottesville, Virginia, and after 4 years in the army received an honorable discharge as a decorated veteran.
He has been in private practice in Orange County, California from approximately 1980 and has formed numerous businesses of all types. He has filed and obtained for 300 to 400 fresh starts for clients in bankruptcy filings, was a founder of a cell telephone company in Africa, and resolved a serious federal felony charge for a client who received 4 months incarceration, while co-defendants received 20 years in prison. His best days are when he obtains a success for his clients.
He was lured into the campaign of Richard Nixon, learned a lot about how sensitive and bruising politics can be, and was a co-chairman of Senator John McCain’s campaign in Orange County of 2000.
